'As a teenager I attended life drawing classes at a further education college as part of studying art and design for school. We had a strong and rebellious art department with passionate teachers who taught us the value and importance of the creative arts to society and wellbeing. Life drawing gave me the confidence to look and to see and the understanding that art and the marks we make are about telling a story and interpretation of feeling and expression in addition to acquiring the technical knowledge and skills to draw and paint. Almost three decades later, in 2017, I felt the desire to give back to the process and took the nervous step to audition for a life modelling agency. I have never been afraid of being naked and am more self conscious clothed. My fear was because I wanted to do a good job. I passed the audition and have been modelling ever since. I still want to do a good job for all the wonderful artists and scultpors out there but the nerves have gone and I now enjoy the physical challenge, the meditative quality and learning surprising things every time about my body and what it is capable of.'
